Please tell us a little about yourself.
I moved to San Antonio, TX in 1980. Prior to entering into Real Estate, I managed Defense Litigation cases for 10 years and spent another 4 years as a Corporate Trainer – teaching Contracts, Negotiations and Ethics. I started as a full time Realtor in January 2003. I use my expertise in contracts and negotiations to make sure my clients always obtain the best deal possible. I continue to work full time with clients, while also helping manage Rigel Realty and train new agents. I specialize in Residential Real Estate, New or Previously Owned properties (Homes, Townhomes, Condominiums and Vacant Land).
How would you describe the San Antonio housing market going into 2018?
San Antonio has roughly 125 new residents every single day. With a population growth of 45,000 residents per year, the housing market in San Antonio is ideal. Steady growth has also helped homeowners see a steady, yet manageable growth in their house values.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a homeowner looking to sell?
Have an experienced agent give you advice on what to do on your house before spending any money to fix it up. Some items will pay you back more than you spend, however some will cost you more than you’ll receive back.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a potential homebuyer?
A house is not just a place to live, it’s an investment. You want to make sure you’re buying the best possible house at the best price.
What is one type of flooring desired by San Antonio homeowners/homebuyers and why?
Buyers are moving away from carpet, except in bedrooms. Buyers love the look of wood, but it can be an issue for owners that keep pets inside, whose nails can scratch the wood. High end laminates or tile can be better choices for those owners.
What is unique about Rigel Realty?
Having negotiated several hundred Real Estate transactions, and over 1,000 lawsuits prior to my Real Estate career, I have a unique outlook on what it means to truly negotiate the best deal possible for my clients. Our agents are not only trained on how to be an exceptional Realtor, but also on how to negotiate for their clients and on how to evaluate a home like an appraiser does. We strive to provide the best service and expertise in town.
