Please tell us a little about yourself.

I have been married to Justin for 25 years.  We have 4 biological children; Maggie, 21, is a senior at Abilene Christian University and recently engaged; John, 18, just left for Marine boot camp; Luke, 17, is a freshman at Abilene Christian University; and Sophie, 14, is a freshman in high school.  Then, we started all over.  We adopted Sam when he was 10 days old, he is now 5.  Then we decided to serve through foster care.  We got Charlie when he was 3-months old.  We adopted him on 10/16 and he is now 3.  And finally, we have our baby girl foster-love.  She is 18-months old and has lived with us for 15 months.  We live on a 640-acre ranch in West Texas and it is a hectic and messy life but we are very blessed.

Why did you decide to start a blog? What do you enjoy about blogging?

I was forced into blogging by author friends who understood the importance of building a platform or audience. I did so reluctantly but have been blessed everyday since.  I love my audience.  They are my friends and soul sisters.

What is your favorite type of flooring and why?

Epoxy glaze on concrete is grand with littles on a ranch, but I also LOVE the look of low pile printed carpet.  I love the Victorian feel of staircases covered in elaborate jewel tone, floral printed carpet.

Do you follow any other blogs for inspiration?  If so, which ones?

I am not a big reader because I am dyslexic.  My sister Stacey blogs at www.shesatdown.org and I never miss her posts.  I also read Katie M. Reid at katiemreid.com and Kelly Balarie at www.purposefulfaith.com.  I also love angelaparlin.comabby-mcdonald.com, and christymobley.com.  These bloggers, in particular, inspire me.

Can you explain a recent project or post you’ve been working on?

I have been busy with edits on my first book which is being released in October of this year by Harvest House.  And because I have a two-book deal with them I am chipping away at the outline for the book that comes out in October of 2018.

Here are some links to my viral posts:

Jami and her husband Justin live on a ranch in Texas. They are active in foster care and currently have seven children. Jami’s first book “Stolen Jesus: An Unconventional Search for the Real Savior” launches in October 2017 with Harvest House Publishers. Jami writes about Jesus, life, and lunacy.
